Well, it's been a hectic couple of weeks at the Tiki househould, South African division. I thought things would settle down some after the move, but no . . . a family medical emergency and extreme computer problems have taken up a lot of time and prevented me from being online as much as I wanted to, and the distressing lack of good fabric stores near my new home have put the kibosh on a lot of the sewing I intended to do (guess I'll have to bite the bullet and pay for expensive shipping from overseas, oh well).
But there is good news!
Thanks to a bunch of extremely cool and generous people, I have enough points to turn into a super group! The most important thing this lets us do is show up in DA's search engine, but there are also all sorts of fun things like skins that will just make things look nicer (and as Rarity has taught us, being stylish imperative).
Also, I've taken over the group which collects free sewing patterns, tutorials, tips and techniques. I'm currently working on the group, and among some exciting new changes, it will now be accepting amigurumi, knitting and crochet patterns.
And lastly, I'm about halfway through writing The Complete Pony Plushie Handbook which will be a downloadable .pdf that covers all aspects of making a stuffed pony - and a bunch of general information that applies to any kind of stuffed animal - and is aimed at the beginner crafter. It will probably end up including some exclusive patterns. I'll be looking for beta readers very soon now!
